Mining

 

We have provided engineering services to the mining industry, including electrical bid specifications, electrical design, automation programming, and commissioning services.  Our work has primarily involved mill operations, with such projects as:

  • New mill feed, classification, and load-out electrical systems were designed, programmed, and commissioned.    We specified and supplied a new 12 section MCC for this lineup.  Closed loop control of air flows, level control, and feed rates ensured that product quality was consistent and operator involvement minimized.
  • An electrical retrofit to increase capacity on an air classification system was designed, programmed, and commissioned.  We specified and supplied the drive cabinets and PLC hardware for this lineup, utilizing remote I/O blocks to simplify wiring.
  • Commissioning services for a mill system designed by others.

Our latest projects have involved networking Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs with PowerFlex 70, 700, and 1336 Plus II drives, along with interfacing Rice Lake Weigh Controllers and Siemens Milltronics weigh scales.
